Brewers 3, Reds 2

Rickie Weeks hit a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.

Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun each added solo homers for the Brewers (12-11).

Tied after the seventh inning, Cincinnati manager Dusty Baker let his starter Mike Leake bat in the top of the eighth with a runner on, but did not let him pitch the bottom of the inning, electing to bring in righthander Logan Ondrusek (2-2).

Weeks led off the eighth and lifted a 1-0 pitch into the seats in left to give Milwaukee the lead.

All of the runs scored via the home run as Fielder’s fourth homer gave the Brewers an early lead in the second before Brandon Phillips hit a two-run blast in the fourth to put Cincinnati on top. Braun’s major league-leading ninth homer in the bottom of the fourth knotted it at 2-2.

Kameron Loe (2-1) pitched one inning in relief of Marco Estrada and John Axford picked up his fifth save.
