Dodgers 3, Nationals 1
Chad Billingsley struck out 10 over seven strong innings, lifting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-1 home win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday.
Billingsley (9-8) allowed an RBI single to Michael Morse in the first, but he escaped further damage by leaving the bases loaded. The Nationals were hitless the rest of the way against Billingsley, who allowed only a fourth-inning leadoff walk to Jayson Werth through the final 20 batters he faced.
Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect eighth to set the table for Javy Guerra, who handled the ninth for his seventh save.
Aaron Miles provided the only offense Billingsley needed when he delivered a two-run single in the first against Jason Marquis (8-5). James Loney added an RBI fielder's choice in the third.
Marquis allowed five hits and four walks in six innings, striking out two. Matt Kemp, who scored on Miles' single, had two of the five Los Angeles hits.
