Dodgers 8, Rockies 2

Rod Barajas homered and had four RBIs to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 8-2 victory over the host Colorado Rockies on Friday.

Hiroki Kuroda (9-14) allowed two runs and four hits over six innings to beat Colorado for the first time in 10 career starts.

Barajas had a run-scoring single in the second and a three-run homer in the fourth off Jason Hammel (7-12) that gave Los Angeles a 6-0 lead.

Tony Gwynn Jr. also homered for the Dodgers, who moved into a virtual tie with the Rockies for third place in the National League West.

Aaron Miles, James Loney and Matt Kemp added run-scoring singles for the Dodgers.

Kuroda struck out five and walked three while improving his career mark against the Rockies to 1-5. He has won three of his last four starts.

Carlos Gonzalez had a run-scoring single and Todd Helton drove in the other Colorado run on an infield out.

Hammel gave up six runs and six hits in three innings. He has allowed six or more runs in four of his last six starts.
