Reds 7, Giants 2
Jay Bruce and Chris Heisey had two RBIs apiece in a five-run first inning as the Cincinnati Reds cruised to a 7-2 victory over the visiting San Francisco Giants on Saturday night.
Brandon Phillips and Miguel Cairo added RBIs for the Reds, who have won two straight for only the second time this month.
Heisey capped the big inning when he drilled a 3-2 changeup from Madison Bumgarner (6-10) back through the box for a two-run single and a 5-0 lead.
It was a welcome sight for Mike Leake (9-6), who had received two runs of support in his last two starts. The righthander allowed two runs - one earned - and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings for his first win in four starts.
Pablo Sandoval homered and Carlos Beltran went 0-for-5 in his third game with the Giants, who have lost two straight for the first time since a three-game skid from July 3-6.
