Braves 6, Marlins 2

Dan Uggla drove in three runs and a key two-run error sparked streaking Atlanta to a series sweep of visiting Miami.

Bryan Petersen dropped Martin Prado’s line drive, allowing two unearned runs to score in a four-run fourth as the Braves won their fifth in a row and 10th in their past 12 games. Atlanta, which has clinched the top National League wild-card spot, remained four games behind first-place Washington in the NL East.

Atlanta starter Tommy Hanson (13-9) overcame a sluggish start, allowing two runs (one earned) and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Miami starter Justin Turner (1-4) gave up four runs (two earned) and six hits in six innings.

Doubles by Carlos Lee and Gil Velazquez staked the Marlins to a 2-0 lead. Atlanta sent nine hitters to the plate in the fourth. Uggla doubled home a run, Andrelton Simmons drove home Uggla with a double and Petersen’s error on Prado’s drive to left plated David Ross and Simmons.

Uggla’s seventh-inning single to right-center scored Prado and Jason Heyward to make it 6-2. Uggla, Ross and Simmons finished with two hits each for the Braves.
