Mike Napoli homered in his fourth straight game and Yu Darvish pitched into the seventh inning as the Rangers extended their winning streak to seven.

The Rangers outhit the Tigers 19-5 and won despite leaving 15 runners on base. Texas’ 11-2 start matches the 1989 team for the best record in franchise history after 13 games.

After two shaky starts, Japanese sensation Darvish (2-0) threw 121 pitches over 6 1/3 innings, giving up one run on two hits with five walks and five strikeouts.

Napoli’s solo shot off Adam Wilk (0-2) gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead after two innings, and Texas added three runs in the fifth on two Detroit errors.

The Tigers’ four-game winning streak ended abruptly, with Don Kelly driving in three runs for their only offense.

Napoli, who went 2-for-5, has five home runs and 10 RBIs in his last four games.

The Rangers broke the game open with five runs in the eighth inning, when they hit three doubles and sent nine batters to the plate.
