Dodgers 5, Giants 3 (10)

Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning off Sergio Romo and visiting Los Angeles pulled within two games of National League West-leading San Francisco.

After Romo (3-2) walked Andre Ethier with two outs, Ramirez ripped an 0-1 pitch over the wall in left field for his first home run since being acquired from Miami earlier this week.

Shawn Tolleson (1-0) pitched the ninth inning for his first major-league win and Kenley Jansen worked around a pair of hits in the 10th for his 20th save.

The Dodgers broke a 31-inning scoreless streak against the Giants with two runs in the fifth, when Jerry Hairston Jr. doubled home a run and Mark Ellis followed with an RBI single.

Ethier doubled to lead off the sixth inning and scored on James Loney’s one-out single to left off Matt Cain, who allowed three runs on nine hits over seven innings.

Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth, the Giants tied the game on Brandon Belt’s two-run single off Ronald Belisario.

Dodgers rookie Stephen Fife gave up one run and six hits over 6 1/3 innings in his second major-league start. He also doubled in the fifth for his first hit in the majors.

The Dodgers snapped a three-game losing streak against the Giants and beat San Francisco for the third time in seven meetings this season.
