Martin Prado ripped a two-run single with two outs in the eighth inning as host Arizona overcame an early three-run deficit to snap a three-game losing streak.
The late rally made a winner of starter Wade Miley (6-7), who overcame Jonathan Lucroy's fourth homer in five contests and Carlos Gomez's mammoth shot in the third inning. The left-hander yielded three runs on eight hits over a season high-tying eight frames before Brad Ziegler stranded runners on the corners in the ninth for his second save.
Reliever Jim Henderson (3-3) entered a tie game in the eighth and promptly walked Adam Eaton, who advanced to second on Gerardo Parra's sacrifice. Paul Goldschmidt and Jason Kubel walked to load the bases before Prado deposited a 2-1 fastball into center field to give the Diamondbacks a 5-3 advantage.
Eaton hit a two-run triple in the fifth and Goldschmidt forged a 3-3 tie when he scored on Kubel's sacrifice fly in the sixth for National League West-leading Arizona.
Lucroy wasted little time continuing his hot streak as he launched a 2-2 fastball from Miley over the wall in center in the first. Gomez tacked on a run in the third by blasting 2-1 slider into the left-field seats for his 14th homer.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Milwaukee OF Ryan Braun was placed on the bereavement list prior to the contest due to a family medical issue. Braun went 1-for-3 in his first contest back on Tuesday following a 26-game absence with a right thumb contusion. ... Brewers RF Norichika Aoki and Goldschmidt extended their hitting streaks to nine and eight games, respectively. Aoki went 2-for-4 and Goldschmidt was 1-for-1 with three walks ... Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo allowed three runs on four hits in six innings before settling for a no-decision.
