Reds 8, Giants 1 (6)

Todd Frazier homered and drove in four runs while Bronson Arroyo tossed six strong innings as host Cincinnati cruised to a rain-shortened victory in the opener of the four-game series.

Derrick Robinson and Zack Cozart had two RBIs apiece for the Reds, who matched their run production from their previous four games combined.

Arroyo (7-6) was credited with his 14th career complete game - and first of the season - after allowing just a run and two hits. The right-hander, who walked one and struck out three, posted his first win since tossing eight scoreless frames on June 3 against Colorado.

Cincinnati gave Arroyo all the support he needed in the second inning, when Robinson capped a four-run rally with a two-run double. Frazier, who had an RBI single in the second, belted a three-run homer an inning later to increase the lead to 7-0.

Mike Kickham (0-3) remains in search of his first victory after being battered for seven runs and nine hits in just 2 2/3 frames. The 24-year-old, who was making his third major-league start, recorded San Francisco's first hit with a third-inning double and Brandon Belt blasted a solo homer in the fifth as the Giants lost for the ninth time in 11 contests.
