Brewers 7, Reds 6
Jonathan Lucroy belted a walk-off two-run homer off Aroldis Chapman as Milwaukee rallied to take out visiting Cincinnati.
Jean Segura led off the ninth with a weak single to short and Lucroy fouled off five straight fastballs from Chapman (3-5) before sending a towering blast out to left-center field. Rookie Khris Davis drove in a pair of runs and John Axford (6-6) earned the win in relief for the Brewers.
Todd Frazier went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs for the Reds, including a go-ahead run-scoring single in the seventh inning. Chris Heisey added a two-run homer as Cincinnati saw its five-game winning streak come to an end and fell 3 1/2 games behind the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Central.
The Reds grabbed the early lead on Frazier’s two-run single in the first inning but Milwaukee scored a run in the second and three more in the third to take a 4-2 edge. Frazier’s solo blast to left in the fourth cut the deficit to 4-3, and Heisey’s towering blast to left-center in the fifth put Cincinnati back on top.
Segura singled in a run to tie it back up in the sixth but Frazier struck again in the next half-inning, lacing a single to left off Rob Wooten that dropped just in front of Davis and scored Heisey from third.
