Ed Lucas led off Miami's sixth by reaching on shortstop Pedro Ciriaco’s error and scored the game’s first run on rookie Marcell Ozuna’s single to right-center. With one out, Marquis walked Derek Dietrich to load the bases and, after Adeiny Hechavarria struck out for the second out of the inning, Mathis connected for a double to make it 4-0.
