Twins 4, Brewers 1

Samuel Deduno allowed one run in seven-plus strong innings and host Minnesota made it three straight wins over Milwaukee.

Rookie Aaron Hicks homered for the second straight game and Ryan Doumit doubled home a pair of runs as the Twins handed the reeling Brewers their fifth consecutive defeat and 21st loss in 26 games in May.

Deduno (1-1), making his second start of the season, scattered four hits and gave up his only run in the second inning. Casey Fien escaped a two-on, no-out situation in the eighth before Glen Perkins worked around a lead single for his 11th save.

Milwaukee right-hander Marco Estrada (4-3) put his team in a 3-0 hole in the first inning and was charged with four runs on seven hits in seven innings. Carlos Gomez had a pair of hits and scored the Brewers' lone run.

Doumit supplied Minnesota with all the runs it would need with a two-out, two-run double in the first and came home on Chris Herrmann's run scoring single. Gomez doubled and scored on Yuniesky Betancourt's groundout in the second, but Hicks got that run back in the fourth with his sixth homer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Doumit has knocked in six runs in the series after his third straight two-RBI game. ... Milwaukee matched its highest loss total for one month since going 6-21 in August 2004. ... Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe, who was just activated from the 7-day disabled list, was a late scratch from the lineup due to cramping in his left calf and is listed as day-to-day. He had been on the DL with a concussion.
