Diamondbacks record another walk-off victory

PHOENIX -- Brandon Drury doubled down the left field line with out in the 11th inning, took third on a grounder and scored on a wild pitch in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 4-3, 11 inning victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday at Chase Field.

After Tuffy Gosewisch walked to put runners on first and third with two outs, Blake Wood (5-3) threw a wild pitch on his first pitch to Jean Segura, and Drury scored easily.

All three of the Diamondbacks' victories in the last five games have been walkoffs.

Ramon Cabrera's double-play sacrifice fly gave the Reds a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th inning, after Scott Schebler pushed a bunt single down the third base line against a shift with one out and Eugenio Suarez singled.

The runners move up a base on a balk by Enrique Burgos before Cabrera hit a fly to medium right-center field. Schebler tagged and scored just before Suarez was thrown out by Yasmany Tomas after over-sliding third.

Arizona tied it 3-3 when Phil Gosselin walked to lead off the last of the 10th inning, took second on a wild pitch and third on a balk. Second baseman Brandon Phillips bare-handed A.J. Pollock's grounder, but his throw to the plate was late as Gosselin scored.

Cincinnati's Jose Peraza delivered an RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning to make it 2-2.

Rickie Weeks homered, tripled and scored twice for the Diamondbacks. Drury had three hits and Paul Goldschmidt had two for Arizona (54-75).

Edwin Escobar (1-2) pitched one inning and earned his first major league victory.

Schebler and Adam Duvall had two hits apiece for the Reds (54-73), who have lost four of five. Joey Votto singled and walked three times (twice intentionally) and is hitting .418 in August.

Cincinnati left-hander Brandon Finnegan had a career-high 12 strikeouts in six innings. He gave up two runs, three hits and walked two. His previous career high in strikeouts was nine, set in his first start of the season April 6.

Arizona right-hander Braden Shipley gave up four hits and one run in seven innings in his seventh major league start. He walked four and struck out one.

Arizona center fielder A.J. Pollock was 0-for-5 with an RBI in his first game of the season after being activated from the disabled list.

Pollock, an All-Star in 2015, re-fractured his right elbow on a play at the plate in an exhibition game three days before the start of the season and had missed the year.

Duvall doubled to open the second inning, took third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Schebler's single for a 1-0 lead.

The Diamondbacks tied it in the last of the second when Weeks tripled off the batter's eye and scored on Drury's hard single off third basemen Suarez's glove.

Weeks hit his ninth homer of the season with two outs in the fourth inning for a 2-1 lead.

Finnegan had his carer high in strikeouts by the time he finished the fifth, getting 11 of his first 15 outs on strikeouts. He struck out the side in the first and fifth innings, had two strikeouts in the second and third innings, and one in the fourth.

Votto walked and Duvall singled to open the sixth inning, but Shipley got out of it on a double play and a comebacker.
