Brewers at Reds

The Milwaukee Brewers go for their third straight road series win when they take on the Cincinnati Reds in the rubber game of their three-game set Sunday afternoon at Great American Ball Park. Milwaukee was 1-6-1 in its first eight road series before taking two of three at Philadelphia earlier this month and duplicating the feat at Miami this week. It dropped the opener in Cincinnati before blanking the Reds 6-0 on Saturday.

Winning a series at Cincinnati is no small feat for the Brewers. Prior to Saturday's shutout win, they had dropped five games in a row and 11 of the last 13 at Great American Ball Park, where the Reds are 23-12 this year. Milwaukee began the season 7-16 on the road and is just 5-13 in series finales.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Wily Peralta (4-7, 6.03 ERA) vs. Reds RH Johnny Cueto (3-0, 2.17)

An otherwise shaky season has been a bit better on the road for Peralta, who is 2-2 with a 4.66 ERA away from home after limiting the Marlins to three runs in six innings on Tuesday in Miami. It was just the second time in his last six starts that Peralta has worked at least six innings. The 24-year-old gave up four runs (three earned) in six frames in a loss at Cincinnati on May 12.

Cueto is expected to be activated from the 15-day disabled list to start the series finale. The 27-year-old, who has been sidelined with a strained right shoulder, has not pitched since limiting the Pirates to one hit over eight scoreless innings on May 31 at Pittsburgh. Cueto is 4-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 13 career starts against Milwaukee.

WALK-OFFS

1. Cincinnati has won five of its last six series against Milwaukee.

2. Milwaukee 3B Aramis Ramirez is 13-for-39 (.333) with four home runs and 10 RBIs against Cueto.

3. Brewers starters have posted a 1.10 ERA over their last six games.
