Rockies at Giants

The San Francisco Giants hope to end their homestand on a high note and earn a split of the four-game series on Sunday as they host the Colorado Rockies for the finale. San Francisco is 3-3 on its seven-game string at AT&T Park but 1-2 in the set against Colorado after being blanked 5-0 on Saturday.

The Giants recorded only a pair of singles in the setback and lost more than a game as left fielder Jarrett Parker suffered a broken right clavicle when he ran into the wall while making a catch to end the fourth inning and is out indefinitely. Nolan Arenado was the offensive star for the Rockies, finishing a triple shy of the cycle while belting his ninth home run in 35 career games at AT&T Park. The third baseman, who celebrates his 26th birthday on Sunday, ranks second to former Colorado teammate Troy Tulowitzki (10 in 68 games) for most homers as a visitor at the stadium among active players. Arenado recorded a career-high 133 RBIs last season but has yet to drive in multiple runs in a game this year.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Antonio Senzatela (1-0, 1.50 ERA) vs. Giants RH Jeff Samardzija (0-2, 6.75)

Senzatela is coming off the first win of his major-league career, a triumph over San Diego on Tuesday in which he allowed two runs and five hits over seven innings. The 22-year-old Venezuelan also issued one walk and struck out five while serving up a home run for the first time. Senzatela also was impressive in his season debut as he gave up only two hits with six strikeouts and three walks in five frames at Milwaukee on April 6.

Samardzija remains in search of his first victory of the season after losing a pair of turns against Arizona. The 32-year-old native of Indiana yielded six runs over 5 1/3 innings on the road in his 2017 debut before surrendering three on five hits and four walks in 6 2/3 frames at home on Tuesday. Samardzija has posted a 2.25 ERA in 11 career games (seven starts) against Colorado but has only a 3-2 record.

WALK-OFFS

1. Giants C Buster Posey still is recovering from his concussion but is expected to accompany the team to Kansas City for the start of its five-game road trip on Tuesday.

2. Colorado RHP Chad Qualls (forearm) has made two scoreless relief appearances during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque but is not yet ready to come off the disabled list.

3. San Francisco OF Chris Marrero, who took over for Parker in the field in the sixth after Aaron Hill initially replaced him, recorded one of the team's two hits on Saturday.
