Indians 6, Tigers 0

Armando Galarraga picked up right where he left off against the Cleveland Indians and Don Kelly went 4-for-4 as the Detroit Tigers pounded out 16 hits en route to a 6-0 victory on Friday.

Brandon Inge went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Miguel Cabrera added two hits and an RBI for the Tigers, who snapped a three-game slide.

The last time Galarraga (4-5) faced the Indians he came within one out of a perfect game on June 2. He wasn’t quite as good on Friday, but the right-hander still managed to dominate - allowing three hits in seven frames while striking out eight and not issuing a walk. It was just his second win in 13 starts since the near-perfect game.

Detroit hit Cleveland starter Justin Masterson (4-12) early, grabbing two runs in the first and two more in the second on seven hits. Will Ryhmes added an RBI single in the fourth and Kelly pushed another across with a double in the eighth.

Masterson was charged with five runs on 11 hits in six innings, walking one and striking out five.
