Felix Hernandez pitched eight scoreless innings and Russell Branyan homered and doubled as the Seattle Mariners earned a 3-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Sunday afternoon.

Hernandez (11-10) allowed four hits and had nine strikeouts, giving him an American League-best 209. He also walked one.

David Aardsma pitched a perfect ninth for his 28th save as Seattle split the four-game series with the Indians.

Michael Saunders gave the Mariners a 1-0 lead with an RBI groundout, scoring Casey Kotchman in the second inning.

Branyan led off the bottom of the sixth against Jeanmar Gomez with his 23rd home run, and third in this series. He added an RBI double in the eighth.

Gomez (3-3) allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings to take the loss.

Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki had two hits for his 57th multi-hit game, best in the majors.
