The Detroit Tigers broke the game open with a seven-run sixth inning and cruised to a 12-3 victory over the visiting Kansas Royals on Monday night.
Ryan Raburn, Jhonny Peralta, and Brandon Inge knocked in three runs apiece and four different Tigers (62-63) had at least two hits.
Detroit starter Jeremy Bonderman (7-9) went six innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out three and snapping a personal three-game losing streak.
Kansas City starter Bruce Chen (8-7) allowed five earned runs over 4 1/3 innings, and Jesse Chavez was battered for the seven runs in the sixth out of the bullpen.
The Royals (52-73), which tacked on a run in the ninth, had 10 hits but was just 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
