Nationals 2, Braves 10
The Atlanta Braves utilized a pair of four-run innings to give rookie Mike Minor his first major-league win in a 10-2 victory against the Washington Nationals Tuesday.
Minor (1-0) allowed two runs on five hits over six innings in his second major-league start. The lefty struck out five and walked two.
Nationals starter Scott Olsen (3-5) allowed only one hit through five innings, but he didn't record an out in the sixth. Diory Hernandez led off the inning with a pinch-hit homer to left, Omar Infante tripled and Jason Heyward drew a walk to chase Olsen. Martin Prado greeted reliever Joel Peralta with an RBI double and Matt Diaz followed with a two-run double.
Prado had three hits and two RBIs in his first game back after missing 16 games with a fractured right pinky.
Melky Cabrera's two-run double capped a four-run seventh in which the Nationals committed two errors and the Braves added two more runs in the eighth.
The Nationals scored their two runs in the sixth on back-to-back doubles by Wil Nieves and Mike Morse.
