Red Sox 4, Twins 0
Clay Buchholz and four relievers combined on three-hit shutout, leading the Boston Red Sox to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Minnesota Twins on Saturday at Fenway Park.
Buchholz (3-3) returned to the mound after a rain delay of more than two hours following the second inning. The righthander allowed just two hits and one walk over five scoreless innings. He also struck out six to pick up the win.
Jed Lowrie opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning, Kevin Youkilis had an RBI single in the third and Jacoby Ellsbury added some insurance with a two-run single in the eighth.
Youkilis, Ellsbury, Carl Crawford and Marco Scutaro had two hits apiece for the Red Sox, and Michael Cuddyer had two of Minnesota's three hits.
Brian Duensing (2-2) allowed one run on three hits over two innings before the delay. He walked one and struck out two.
The Twins were denied a season-high fourth consecutive victory, while the Red Sox snapped a three-game losing streak.
