Orioles 6, Rays 0

Brad Bergesen pitched a four-hitter for his first career shutout as the visiting Baltimore Orioles blanked the Tampa Bay Rays 6-0 on Saturday.

Bergesen (1-4) did not allow a hit after the third inning. He struck out five and walked one among his 103 pitches.

Jake Fox hit a two-run homer in the sixth and Mark Reynolds had a solo blast in the fifth for the Orioles (18-20), who have won four of five games. Nick Markakis had two hits and two walks, while Vladimir Guerrero and Adam Jones each had two hits and an RBI.

Rays starter Wade Davis (4-3) allowed seven hits and four runs in 5 1/3 innings. The last of his 106 pitches was hit into the left field seats by Fox in the sixth as the Rays (23-16) had a three-game win streak snapped.

Bergesen got All-Star Evan Longoria to ground into a double play with two on and one out in the first, and stranded a runner at third in the second and third innings.

Reynolds' homer was his first since May 1.
