Indians 7, Royals 3

Travis Hafner drove in three runs, and Carlos Santana and Asdrubal Cabrera homered to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 7-3 victory over the host Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.

The Indians outscored the Royals 26-4 to take both games of the series. Cleveland has won five straight over Kansas City and is 7-2 against the Royals this season.

Carlos Carrasco (2-2) gave up two runs in 5 1/3 innings for his first win since April 8 as the Indians opened a five-game lead over Detroit in the American League Central.

Sean O'Sullivan (2-3) allowed six runs in five innings for Kansas City, which has scored five runs in its four-game losing streak.

Hafner's three-run double in the first gave the Indians the early lead. Santana hit a solo home run in the fifth and Cabrera added a solo shot in the seventh.

Michael Brantley had a sacrifice fly in the fourth and Travis Buck drove in a run with a fifth-inning single for Cleveland.

Matt Treanor's RBI single drove in Kansas City's first run in the second. Rookie Eric Hosmer added an RBI single in the sixth while Melky Cabrera has an RBI single in the ninth.
