Dodgers 6, Tigers 1

Andre Ethier hit his seventh home run and the Los Angeles Dodgers won their third straight game, 6-1 over the visiting Detroit Tigers on Tuesday.

Chad Billingsley (6-6) gave up one run on six hits and struck out six over 5 1/3 innings for the Dodgers, who prevented Max Scherzer from becoming the major league's first 10-game winner.

The Dodgers rocked Scherzer (9-3) for six runs on nine hits over six innings. After scoring 74 runs in Scherzer’s first 15 starts, the Tigers managed only 10 baserunners against the Dodgers.

With two stolen bases, Matt Kemp joined Davey Lopes as the only two Dodgers with 20 homers and 20 steals before the All-Star break. Infielder Aaron Miles went 2-for-3 to give him 20 hits in his last 39 at-bats.

Detroit, which entered the series batting .321 over its previous 14 games, has been held to one run over its last two games as the Dodgers have allowed one run in their last three games.
