Miguel Montero belted a three-run homer and drove in five runs and Kelly Johnson added a pair of solo shots and an RBI triple as the rampaging Arizona Diamondbacks extended their winning streak to a season-high seven games with a 15-4 battering of the visiting Florida Marlins on Monday night.
Justin Upton went 5-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs as Arizona collected 19 hits to win for the 13th time in 14 games and remain one-half game ahead of the San Francisco Giants atop the National League West.
Joe Saunders (2-5) won his second straight start, allowing four runs in six innings, as the Diamondbacks won seven in a row for the first time since April 2008.
Upton, who was mired in a 5-for-34 slump, had his first five-hit game since Sept. 16, 2009. Johnson had four hits to extend his hitting streak to six games and Montero capped a five-run sixth inning with his three-run shot to break it open.
Gaby Sanchez homered and drove in three runs for Florida, which lost for the third time in four games.
Marlins starter Chris Volstad (2-4) lasted just 3 1/3 innings, getting raked for five runs on eight hits to suffer his third straight loss and remain winless since April 26.
