Phillies 7, Cubs 1

Chase Utley belted a two-run homer and drove in four runs and Cliff Lee tossed eight strong innings as the Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a 7-1 home triumph over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.

Shane Victorino had three hits - including an RBI single - and scored three times and Ryan Howard drove in his team-leading 50th run of the season for Philadelphia, which has won five of its last seven contests.

Entering Saturday's game with four RBIs, Utley matched his season total with a two-run double in the first inning and a two-run homer in the eighth.

The offense was more than enough for Lee (6-5), who recorded his fourth win in five outings and improved to 4-0 in his career against the Cubs. The southpaw allowed one run on four hits and struck out seven.

Lou Montanez had an RBI single in the third inning and rookie Darwin Barney snapped an 0-for-14 stretch with a pair of hits for Chicago, which has dropped 12 of its last 15 games.

Matt Garza (2-6) lost his second straight contest since returning from the disabled list. He allowed two runs on five hits in six innings.
