Matt Harrison pitched 7 1/3 strong innings and the Texas Rangers salvaged a split of a four-game series with a 4-1 victory over the visiting Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
Harrison (9-7) won his third straight decision by allowing one run on eight hits. It was the sixth time in his last nine outings that he's allowed one earned run or fewer.
Michael Young and Mitch Moreland each had two hits and an RBI to help the Rangers maintain a two-game lead over the Los Angeles Angels atop the American League West.
Josh Hamilton added three hits, including a double and triple, and Neftali Feliz recorded his 21st save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
Twins starter Scott Baker (8-6) had his three-game winning streak come to an end. He gave up two runs and eight hits in seven innings.
Jim Thome drove in the Twins' lone run with a single in the sixth inning for the 1,650 RBIs of his career.
