Angels 7, Twins 1
Rookie Mark Trumbo homered and drove in four runs and Dan Haren threw eight dominant innings to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-1 win over the visiting Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
Haren (12-6) followed his complete-game win last Sunday with another stellar effort against the Twins, giving up one run on five hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
Trumbo, who blasted a three-run homer to left field in the third inning, has 10 home runs and 33 RBIs in his last 38 games.
Jim Thome broke up the shutout in the top of the eighth inning with his 598th career home run.
Francisco Liriano (7-9) allowed seven runs on 10 hits over five innings in his first start against the Angels since July 2009.
