Rockies 5, Cubs 0
Jhoulys Chacin threw his first career complete game as the Colorado Rockies won their seventh consecutive game with a 5-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Friday.
Colorado (11-2) has won 11 of 12 since an Opening Day loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks and holds the best record in baseball.
Chacin (3-0) was dominant from the outset. He struck out seven and allowed six hits and two walks. Chacin finished off his first shutout by getting Alfonso Soriano to ground into a double play.
Chris Iannetta staked Chacin to a big lead in the second, ripping a three-run triple to center and scoring on Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro's error.
The Rockies added a run in the fifth on Todd Helton's RBI single.
Aramis Ramirez had three of the Cubs' six hits, including a double in the sixth.
Cubs starter Matt Garza (0-2) allowed five runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked two.
