Astros 2, Dodgers 1
J.R. Towles singled home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, leading the Houston Astros to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.
Brett Wallace started the decisive rally with a one-out double. After Dodgers reliever Matt Guerrier (2-3) got Bill Hall to fly out, Towles drove a 2-0 pitch into center field to score pinch runner Brian Bogusevic.
Mark Melancon (4-1) got the win for Houston after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. Houston starter Aneury Rodriguez allowed four hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
Michael Bourn led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run against Ted Lilly, and Rodriguez held that advantage until Matt Kemp homered to tie the score with two out in the sixth.
