Dodgers 1, Astros 0 (10)
Matt Kemp’s single in the bottom of the 10th inning drove in Casey Blake and the Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the visiting Houston Astros on Friday.
Blake led off with a double down the right field line against David Carpenter (0-2). After Andre Ethier was intentionally walked, Kemp delivered his fifth career walk-off hit with a flare just over first base.
Josh Lindblom (1-0) worked a scoreless 10th as Los Angeles improved to 6-0 in extra-inning games this season.
The Dodgers nearly won the game in the ninth when Juan Rivera led off with his fourth career triple, but after two intentional walks, Fernando Rodriguez worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam.
Dodgers starter Nathan Eovaldi threw six scoreless innings in his second major league outing. The Astros managed only three hits against Eovaldi and four Dodger relievers.
Bud Norris struck out eight and allowed two hits in seven innings for Houston, which has lost four straight.
