Dodgers 7, Astros 0
Justin Sellers drove in three runs with his first career home run and the Los Angeles Dodgers completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Houston Astros with a 7-0 victory on Sunday.
Hiroki Kuroda (8-14) won at home for the first time since May 17 while throwing seven scoreless innings and giving up five hits with six strikeouts. In Kuroda’s previous 18 starts, the Dodgers scored more than three runs just twice.
Matt Kemp tied a career high with his 28th home run in the third inning off Jordan Lyles (1-7), who allowed seven runs over 5 1/3 innings. Kemp homered for the second straight game and added his 31st stolen base.
Los Angeles broke the game open when Sellers capped the Dodgers’ four-run sixth inning with a blast to left field for his first three career RBIs. The Dodgers swept the Astros at home for the first time since 2001.
Houston, which has lost six straight games and 18 of its last 23, were outscored 14-1 during the three-game series.
