Michael Morse had a pair of home runs, including one of three hit by the Washington Nationals in the first inning of a 7-2 win over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.
Ian Desmond, Morse and Jayson Werth all hit homers off Hiroki Kuroda (11-15) in the first inning and Morse added another in the sixth, his team-leading 26th.
Kuroda, who struck out nine in six innings, had his four-game winning streak snapped. Kuroda has allowed six of his 21 home runs over the last two games.
John Lannan (9-11) allowed one run on five hits and struck out four in 5 1/3 innings to break a four-game losing streak. His last victory had come on Aug. 2.
