Alexi Amarista hit a two-run double in his first major league at-bat and the Los Angeles Angels pounded out 16 hits en route to an 8-3 victory over the visiting Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.
Howie Kendrick was 3-for-4 with three runs scored for the Angels, who picked up their sixth straight victory and ninth straight at home against Oakland.
Oakland starter Brandon McCarthy (1-2) allowed seven runs and 14 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Amarista's hit gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead in the second.
Los Angeles catcher Hank Conger finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs as the No. 7-9 hitters in Los Angeles' lineup went 6-for-11 with six RBIs.
Los Angeles starter Tyler Chatwood (2-1) allowed three runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings for his second career victory.
Oakland's Coco Crisp left the game in the third inning with tightness in his left quadriceps. Crisp, who was 10-for-15 in his last four games, is questionable to play Wednesday.
Conor Jackson hit a two-run homer for Oakland.
