Athletics 4, Angels 3 (2nd, 10)
Scott Sizemore drove in Cliff Pennington with a single in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Oakland Athletics salvaged a split of Saturday's doubleheader with a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
David DeJesus and Landon Powell also had RBI singles for Oakland, which posted only its seventh win in 21 contests.
Pennington replaced Josh Willingham, who walked to lead off the 10th. DeJesus sacrificed Pennington to second and Sizemore followed two batters later with a single to right center to end the game.
Brad Ziegler (3-1) tossed a scoreless inning to pick up the win, while Rich Thompson (1-3) suffered the loss.
Rookie Mark Trumbo belted a two-run homer and Vernon Wells also went deep for Los Angeles, which suffered only its fifth loss in 20 games.
The Angels won the first game 4-2.
