Rangers 8, Tigers 3: Josh Hamilton homered and drove in three runs as American League West-leading Texas clinched its first home series win in four tries.

Ian Kinsler recorded two RBIs and Yu Darvish won for only the second time in seven starts for the Rangers, who improved to an AL-best 36-22 at home.

Hamilton opened the scoring in the first inning with his major league-leading 32nd homer, a two-run shot off Rick Porcello that moved him one blast ahead of Adam Dunn of the Chicago White Sox. Hamilton capped a three-run third with a base hit that plated Elvis Andrus, giving him a major league-best 99 RBIs.

Texas added two runs in the seventh on a pair of wild pitches by Detroit reliever Brayan Villarreal.

Miguel Cabrera, who entered the game tied with Hamilton at 96 RBIs, collected two on a double that highlighted Detroit's three-run fifth.

Darvish (12-8) allowed three runs on six hits and five walks in 6 2/3 innings. The right-hander, who struck out eight, improved to 8-2 at home.

Porcello (9-7) lost for just the second time in seven decisions, surrendering six runs - four earned - and nine hits over six frames.
