Indians 4, Orioles 3

Ubaldo Jimenez scattered four hits over six scoreless innings and Yan Gomes ripped a two-run double in the sixth as host Cleveland posted its second win in eight contests.

Asdrubal Cabrera hit a pair of sacrifice flies while Jason Kipnis and Michael Brantley both doubled and scored a run for the Indians, who remained 3 1/2 games behind Tampa Bay in the race for the second wild card in the American League.

Nate McLouth drilled a three-run homer in the ninth for the Orioles, who have dropped five of their last eight to fall three games behind the Rays.

Jimenez (10-9), who struck out 10 in each of his previous two trips to the mound, fanned four to record just his second victory in six decisions. Two relievers bridged the gap to Chris Perez, who rebounded after yielding McLouth's 11th homer to strike out a pair.

After Cabrera's sacrifice flies staked Cleveland to a 2-0 lead, Gomes doubled the advantage in the sixth by sending a first-pitch changeup from Chris Tillman (15-5) to deep left field. Brantley and Matt Carson scored to end the evening for Tillman, who yielded four runs on five hits and as many walks in 5 1/3 innings.
