Reds 5, Diamondbacks 3
Zack Cozart drove in two runs and Bronson Arroyo worked six solid innings as host Cincinnati stole another game from Arizona in the National League wild-card race.
Brandon Phillips went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored while Todd Frazier hit a solo home run as the Reds upped their advantage over the Diamondbacks for the second wild-card spot to six games. Cincinnati also remained 2 1/2 behind the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central.

The Reds began the fourth inning with four straight hits, taking a 2-1 lead on Jay Bruce’s RBI single and pushing another run across on Ryan Ludwick’s double. Cozart’s RBI groundout capped the three-run rally, and Frazier’s blast to straightaway center in the fifth pushed the advantage to 5-1.
The Diamondbacks got two runs back in the sixth on Prado’s bases-loaded single, but Arroyo (12-9) got the last two outs to escape the jam as he was charged with three runs on seven hits. Manny Parra tossed a scoreless seventh and J.J. Hoover struck out two in a perfect eighth before Aroldis Chapman worked around two hits in the ninth for his 31st save.
