Tigers 7, Indians 2 (7)

Victor Martinez hit a two-run double to spark a four-run third inning as host Detroit continued its dominance over Cleveland in a rain-shortened game.

Rick Porcello (11-7) improved to 7-1 in his last 10 starts with 5 2/3 solid innings, allowing two runs on five hits as the Tigers beat the Indians for the sixth straight time. Cleveland fell 7 1/2 games behind first-place Detroit in the American League Central and trails Tampa Bay by 4 1/2 for the second wild-card spot.

Austin Jackson and Omar Infante added RBI singles while Don Kelly had a sacrifice fly as the Tigers improved to 14-3 against the Indians, who tumbled to their fourth consecutive defeat. The game was called following a 69-minute rain delay after the end of the seventh inning.

Zach McAllister (7-8) had his three-start winning streak snapped, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings. Asdrubal Cabrera accounted for both Cleveland runs with a double-play grounder in the second and a bases-loaded walk in the sixth.

The Tigers tied it in the third on Kelly's sacrifice fly and pulled ahead in the fourth on Jackson's run-scoring single and a fly ball by Martinez that center fielder Michael Bourn lost in the lights and allowed to fall for a two-run double.
