Logan Morrison ripped a go-ahead RBI double in the sixth inning and rookie Jose Fernandez remained undefeated at home as Miami opened a four-game series by handing Los Angeles its second straight setback.
Giancarlo Stanton belted a two-out homer in the eighth inning before Ed Lucas and Adeiny Hechavarria provided insurance with RBI singles. Rookie Christian Yelich had an RBI double and Donovan Solano added a run-scoring single in the third for the Marlins, who have won two in a row and four of six.
Juan Uribe continued his stellar surge by belting an RBI double among his three hits and scored on a groundout in the fifth inning. Andre Ethier also scored for the Dodgers, who had won a season-high 10 in a row and 42 of 50 prior to dropping a 3-2 decision to Philadelphia on Sunday. Los Angeles still enjoys a 7 1/2-game lead over Arizona in the National League West.
After Uribe's RBI double forged a 2-2 tie in the top of the sixth, Miami regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. Solano and Stanton ripped one-out singles before Morrison deposited a 2-1 fastball from Hyun-Jin Ryu (12-4) down the right-field line to plate Solano and extend his hitting streak to seven games.
Morrison's RBI double made a winner of Fernandez (9-5), who recorded his fourth straight victorious decision and improved to 6-0 at home. The 21-year-old allowed two runs on four hits and struck out eight in six innings.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles SS Hanley Ramirez played six-plus years for the Marlins prior to being traded to the Dodgers in July 2012. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. ... Uribe has 16 hits in his last 10 contests. ... Ryu saw his six-game winning streak come to an end after yielding three runs on six hits in 7 1/3 innings.
