Brewers 3, Giants 1
Wily Peralta pitched 6 1/3 solid innings and Carlos Gomez homered as visiting Milwaukee won its 43rd straight game when leading after eight innings.
Peralta (8-11) allowed one run and five hits while striking out six after yielding 12 runs in his previous two starts - both losses. Two relievers bridged the gap to closer Jim Henderson, who recorded four outs for his 16th save in 19 chances.
Matt Cain (7-7) yielded two runs and four hits over seven innings en route to his first loss in four starts as the Giants succumbed for the eighth time in their last 10 games at home.
Gomez took Cain deep to left with one out in the second for his 18th home run. Milwaukee made it 2-0 in the fourth when Norichika Aoki led off with a double, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on catcher Buster Posey's errant pickoff attempt.
San Francisco put runners on first and third with none out in the seventh, but only mustered an RBI groundout by pinch hitter Joaquin Arias. The Giants' Brandon Crawford led off the eighth with a double, but was stranded at third before the Brewers added an insurance run on Jonathan Lucroy's sacrifice fly in the ninth.
