Giants 4, Brewers 1
Tim Lincecum scattered one hit over eight scoreless innings to record his first victory since tossing a no-hitter and Brandon Belt blasted a three-run homer as host San Francisco salvaged a split of its four-game series.
Lincecum (6-11) snapped a three-start winless streak since tossing a no-hitter against San Diego on July 13, striking out eight to improve to 3-9 in his last 15 outings. The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner allowed Juan Francisco's double in the third inning and Jeff Bianchi's walk in the fifth before retiring the final 11 batters he faced.
The Giants got the early jump as Marco Scutaro led off the first inning with a single and advanced to third on Brandon Crawford's double. Two batters later, Belt deposited a 1-0 fastball from rookie Donovan Hand (0-4) over the wall in right field for his 12th homer. Belt's blast snapped San Francisco's 11-game drought without a home run at AT&T Park.
Crawford added a two-out RBI single in the second inning among his three hits. Scutaro also had three hits and scored twice for the Giants, who won just two of the seven meetings versus the Brewers.
Khris Davis had a pinch-hit double to lead off the ninth inning and came around to score on Jean Segura's single. Sergio Romo got the final two outs to secure San Francisco's fifth win in 14 outings.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Scutaro batted at the top of the order and went 3-for-5.
