Padres 4, Phillies 3 (10)
: Kyle Blanks drove in two runs and scored in the ninth inning before delivering a walkoff RBI single in the 10th as host San Diego avoided its third consecutive loss.

The Padres began the ninth with two straight hits off Cliff Lee, who had tossed eight scoreless innings and was in line for his seventh win in a row. Jonathan Papelbon came on and provided little relief as Blanks - who finished with four hits - ripped a two-run single before scoring the tying run on a passed ball by Carlos Ruiz.

After Philadelphia stranded the go-ahead run at third in the top of the 10th, Justin De Fratus (2-1) retired the first batter he faced in the bottom half before loading the bases on two walks and a hit batsman. Blanks followed with a base hit to left field, plating Chris Denorfia with the winning run.

Joe Thatcher (3-1) picked up the win after recording the final out in the top of the 10th. Starter Eric Stults lasted seven innings, surrendering two runs and seven hits with four strikeouts.

Chase Utley belted a solo homer and John Mayberry Jr. went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored for the Phillies, who have lost four of five. Ruiz added three hits and an RBI.
