Red Sox 5, Blue Jays 4

Jed Lowrie hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park on Saturday night.

Lowrie's blast led off the 11th off losing pitcher Casey Janssen (4-2) and made a winner out of Jonathan Papelbon (5-5), who pitched the top of the 11th.

Victor Martinez had three hits and three RBIs. He gave the Red Sox a 2-0 lead in the third on a single. The Blue Jays cut the lead to 2-1 on an RBI single by John McDonald in the fourth.

Boston made it 4-1 in the fifth as Martinez and Adrian Beltre had RBI singles.

The Blue Jays tied it up with three runs in the sixth inning. John Buck scored one run on a sacrifice fly and Lyle Overbay followed with a two-run homer, his 16th of the season. Overbay has three homers and nine RBIs in his last two games.

Both starters struck out eight and allowed four runs but didn't figure in the decision. Toronto's Ricky Romero lasted seven innings while Daisuke Matsuzaka went eight frames for the Red Sox.
