Angels 5, Mariners 2

Peter Bourjos, Bobby Abreu and Hideki Matsui hit homers in the sixth inning and the Los Angeles Angels earned a 5-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.

Los Angeles starter Ervin Santana (14-9) gave up two runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings, struck out four and walked none for the win.

The Angels had gone 31 innings without a run before they lit up Seattle starter David Pauley in the sixth.

Bourjos led off with a homer to center. With two outs, Abreu homered, Torii Hunter singled and Matsui hit a two-run shot for his 17th homer. Abreu also scored on a bases-loaded balk by Sean White in the eighth.

Pauley (2-6) allowed the four runs on six hits in six innings to remain winless at home in four decisions.

Seattle scored two runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Michael Saunders and a sacrifice fly by Adam Moore. Casey Kotchman also scored on a wild pitch in the ninth.
