Braves 9, Mets 3

Jason Heyward and Martin Prado combined for seven RBIs and Brian McCann hit a home run to power the Atlanta Braves to a 9-3 victory against the New York Mets on Monday.

Heyward broke open a tie game with his 16th home run of the season, a three-run shot in the second off Mets starter Pat Misch. The rookie outfielder added an RBI single in the three-run sixth and scored later in the inning on Prado's two-run single. Heyward finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs and scored three runs.

Prado went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and Omar Infante was 2-for-4 and scored three runs. McCann added his 19th homer of the season, a solo shot off Oliver Perez in the seventh.

Braves starter Jair Jurrjens (6-4) allowed six hits and six walks before leaving with two outs in the fifth. He gave up only three runs, thanks to left-hander Eric O'Flaherty, who got Chris Carter to ground out with the bases loaded to end the sixth.

Jurrjens improved to 6-0 at home this season.

Misch (0-4) allowed five runs on eight hits over three innings for the loss.
