Yankees 5, Angels 3

Mark Teixeira burned his former team by belting a pair of homers as the New York Yankees took two of three from the Los Angeles Angels with a 5-3 road triumph on Sunday.

Nick Swisher launched a solo homer, Brett Gardner had an RBI double and Bartolo Colon (4-3) allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings as New York improved to 6-1 in its last seven games.

Teixeira had a solo blast in the third inning and a two-run shot in the fifth for his first multi-homer game of the season and 30th career.

David Robertson and Joba Chamberlain bridged the gap to Mariano Rivera, who induced a double-play ball to end the game and secure his 16th save of the season.

Rookie Mark Trumbo belted his 11th homer of the season and Erick Aybar added an RBI single for Los Angeles, which has dropped four of its last five.

Joel Pineiro (2-3) was charged with four runs on nine hits in 6 2/3 innings to take the loss.
