Padres 5, Braves 3 (13)
Ryan Ludwick's second home run of the game - a two-run shot in the bottom of the 13th inning - gave the San Diego Padres a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Monday.
Nick Hundley, who tied the game with an RBI double in the seventh, drew a one-out walk off Cristhian Martinez (0-2) and Ludwick’s fourth homer of the season - just over the outstretched glove of left fielder Martin Prado - ended the Padres' four-game losing streak.
Will Venable added an RBI groundout for the Padres, who scored more runs than they had in their previous four games combined (three).
Cory Luebke (1-1), the Padres’ sixth reliever, threw two innings for the win. He struck out Alex Gonzalez with the go-ahead run on second in the 13th.
Jason Heyward homered and rookie Freddie Freeman drove in a run for the Braves, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. Atlanta had won 12 of its last 16 games in San Diego.
