Braves 5, Marlins 0
Dan Uggla hit his 19th home run to support Brandon Beachy’s 7 1/3 shutout innings as the host Atlanta Braves blanked the Florida Marlins 5-0 on Friday night.
Uggla broke a scoreless tie with a three-run homer to center in the seventh off Clay Hensley to extend his career-best hitting streak to 20 games.
Jose Constanza, recalled earlier in the day to replace the injured Nate McLouth, drove in a run with his first major-league hit in the eighth and scored on a sacrifice fly by Freddie Freeman.
Beachy (4-2) allowed two hits and struck out six en route to his first career win against a National League East team.
Hensley (1-3) allowed three runs and five hits in seven innings.
