Angels 9, Orioles 3
ike Trout hit his first major league home run and Torii Hunter also went deep in a five-run eighth inning as the Los Angeles Angels pulled away for a 9-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Trout, who entered the game hitting .176, connected for a three-run shot off fellow rookie Mark Worrell. Worrell also surrendered Hunter's two-run shot later in the inning.
Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie (4-14) allowed three runs over seven innings to lose for the fifth time in his last six starts.
Baltimore's Adam Jones hit his 18th homer, a two-run shot in the sixth, but that was all the Orioles got against Angels starter Tyler Chatwood (6-6), who allowed two runs and six hits over seven innings tow win for the first time since June 25.
Nick Markakis added a solo homer in the ninth for the Orioles, who finished 4-6 on their homestand.
The Angels have won four of five, including two of three in the series.
