Brewers 3, Rockies 1
Center fielder Dexter Fowler's miscalculated dive on Ryan Braun's triple in the third inning led to three runs, and Randy Wolf threw seven strong innings as the Milwaukee Brewers ran their NL-best home record to 16-6 by finishing off a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies with a 3-1 victory Sunday at Miller Park.
The Rockies took a 1-0 lead in the third on Carlos Gonzalez's RBI single, but that was all they got against Wolf (4-4), who allowed one run on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts to earn his first win since April 24.
The Brewers struck back in the bottom of the inning, when Fowler laid out for Braun's liner to center and it skipped past him and went all the way to the wall. Carlos Gomez and Rickie Weeks scored, and Braun came around to score when Fowler's throw from the warning track missed the cutoff man.
Braun's triple was one of only two hits against Ubaldo Jimenez (0-4), who remained winless despite turning in one of his best outings of the season. He allowed three runs — two earned —over eight innings. He struck out four but walked five.
John Axford worked around a two-out walk in the ninth for his 12th save.
